We are creatures of comfort. We want life to be full of beautiful experiences. We don’t want a hard life. We want it to be easy. We want the good times to last forever. The older we get, we realize life is ambivalent. It is unpredictable, and sometimes, no matter how hard we try, we can’t control the things life does to us and to the people around us.
If we want to taste sweet success, we have to work hard and make sacrifices. If we want to love someone, we have to take risks. We learn to communicate,, spend time together, try to be fair, and sometimes we have to wait in order to get what we want. If we want to trust people, we have to take down the walls and reveal pieces of ourselves. All of this is not an easy task.
If we want to soar through the sky or dance in the clouds, we have to take a risk and we have to fight through the fear. We have to accept failure and losses along the way. If we never try, we will never know the joy of dancing in the clouds. In every experience, there is the potential for good and evil.. We are the ones who must decide how to prepare and deal with obstacles along the way. If we do not, if we take the easy way out, we will live lives of mediocrity.
