About: REFLECTIONS OF A MINDFUL HEART AND SOUL. (Update).

Dear Reader:

I am a retired professional who has worked more than thirty years in helping clients find solutions to problems. It was exciting for me to see others grow. They taught me a lot about compassion, acceptance, caring, courage, faith, and the strength of the human spirit. It was an honor to work with them.  I was married for almost thirty years. I have a grown child. I am part American Indian and I love God, the outdoors, people, books, and dogs.

I decided to write a blog to share with others that we are all a part of humanity. We are born into this world and we carry with us a past that shapes us and motivates us. Our past does not define us, but it does influence us at times and places obstacles in our way. We have the power through reading, observing, self-reflection, and being in relationship with one another to change our patterns of interactions, our perceptions, and even our truths. Life is full of hurt and disappointments. Life is also full of love, joy, and blessings. It is what we do with these things that makes a difference.

I will share with you my reflections on life, things I’ve learned along the way that have helped me navigate difficult times. I hope this can become a place where you can reflect on life, where you can find someone who can relate to your pain and fears, and discover hope.  I will sign this with my American Indian name which means, “She who stands in the face of the wind.” I leave you with a quote from Eckhart Tolle: ” Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have.”

Yu/stan/kema.
