A colony of ants

lived in a city of sorts.

They lived by group rules

and worked with cohorts.

They accomplished a lot

when they worked with each other

to achieve the same goals

in all kinds of weather.

One had to admire how

much the ants  gave

to bring home enough food,

so some they could save.

The ants used a routine

to get what they needed

so all could survive

without being cheated.

But some were unhappy,

and a few wanted more

of the good things in life

that were kept in a store.

They disobeyed rules

and gave up on routines.

They took what they wanted

and caused a big scene.

When it came to each other,

they chose not to share

with the whole group of ants

when their cupboards were bare.

They kept to themselves

and ate all that they had.

They lost group respect

and slowly went mad.

For what was important

in living their lives

” was to care about others

and live without strife.”

This Struggle Is Real.

America, Buying men., Congressmen, Greed, liberty, Poetry by Yu/stan/kema., power, Safe-guarding liberty., This struggle, Votes

America is reeling from

insidious attacks

within the halls

of Congress and outside

it’s crumbling shores.

Corruption eats at the

heart of Lady Liberty

as  rich men buy votes

from those who have forgotten

how to lead and serve

their country men.

Their hollow, empty eyes

reflect a lack of morals

as they spend their days

catering to those men

who are hiding in the shadows

and who spit forth lies to mislead,

and cover up their evil deeds.

Congressmen choose to lie

and steal so they can win,

without regard for human life.

In a mad dash for power,

they break rules and make

promises they don’t

intend to keep.

Congress bows to a man

who has taken their power

and who rules with

complete authority.

He does so without restraint

and operates from a

position of self-interest.

The well-being of the People

Congress serves is  forgotten.

They serve power and greed.

Their goal is to win, at all cost.

America has been dealt

a terrible blow.

Citizens stagger around

in a stupor, not quite grasping

what has happened to them,

but smart enough to know

America is bleeding and

needs medical attention.

Others follow blindly

like sheep to the slaughter,

believing in those who lie

and say the promised land

is right around the corner.

Where will it all end,

and can a Nation now divided

come together to create

a more perfect union?

Can we focus on the things

we all have in common

and accept our differences

as a symbol of strength?

Will we awake in time

to safeguard our Country

and our precious liberty?

My tears fall for a Country

I no longer recognize.

America has been brought down

to its knees by greed and corruption.

It’s ideals and values plundered

By people who no longer care,

About the average person who

Works to keep his family alive.

Powerful men want to rape and destroy

The loveliest of Nature’s treasures.

They intend to bring down the institutions

That keep our Nation running smoothly,

And that protect the weak, the old,

The poor, and those who are disabled.

These men have lost their way,

And they have betrayed the very people

Who have placed them in power.

They laugh and make plans

To take from the very poor

Needed resources and

They hand them to the rich.

They pollute our clean rivers,

Dirty the air we breathe, and

Steal land from the Native Americans.

They say with arrogance and greed,

“Let’s make America great again.”

They ridicule those who are different,

Poke fun at the handicapped,

Verbally abuse the poor and the weak,

Take money from the elderly,

Take away school lunches from

Hungry children,

And call themselves “Christians,

Convinced they are doing the will of God.

They treat minorities with little respect,

Shut out families fleeing from war,

Lie continually to the people they serve,

Create chaos and insecurity for people

They are suppose to keep safe,

And they rule with arrogance and power.

They steal and cheat from

Their constituents,

Are filled with hatred towards those

Who disagree with their ideas,

And make war on the less fortunate.

My heart bleeds for a Country

That has lost its moral compass

In the name of religion.

Yu/stan/kema.
